Diversity: Much more than a regulatory objective

The CILEx Group is delighted to be attending the annual UK Diversity Legal Awards in London. Each organisation within the Group has invited a couple of external guests; I will be joined by CILEx Fellows Dr Frantz Iwu and Rubina Khanom. CILEx President Millicent Grant has been shortlisted  for the Lawyer of the Year award, alongside peers from DLA Piper, Aon and JPMorgan Chase & Co. To see all the award finalists, click here.

It is pleasing to see lawyers from all walks of life coming together to celebrate their achievements. But it is also a time to reflect on the importance of our role in continuing to promote wider diversity and inclusion across our regulated community. Earlier this year, we undertook to survey all CILEx practitioners and received an overwhelming response from 27% of them.  Having completed the analysis and reported initial trends to our Board, we will be publishing the results just after the Christmas period.

Meanwhile, keep an eye out for my video with Rubina, where I invite her to tell me what diversity means to her.  You can also get involved by visiting our LinkedIn post and telling us why diversity matters to you.
